H2 Energy Europe is a developer of large-scale green hydrogen ecosystems. Our projects cover different parts of the green hydrogen value chain from production, to distribution and consumption. Major green hydrogen production projects include a 1GW plant in Esbjerg, Denmark converting offshore wind power, and a 20MW plant in Milford Haven, South Wales. H2 Energy Europe is also rolling out a hydrogen filling station network with sites along major transport routes across Germany, Austria, and Denmark.

We are looking for a hands-on Business Development/Finance Analyst/Associate (3-5 years of work experience) to join our growing team in Switzerland.
This role provides a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of the energy transition in the fast-growing green hydrogen space. As we are currently implementing structured finance solutions across our green hydrogen projects in the UK, Denmark and Germany, we need a professional with infrastructure finance experience to strengthen our team. By joining, you will contribute to developing green hydrogen infrastructure financings from scratch by managing engaging due-diligence and structuring work on the debt side, owning the model, forecasts and budgets, and manage requirements of the equity side. You will be part of our global finance team and engage closely with the business development team. You will work side by side with experienced colleagues from both technical and commercial backgrounds.
Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities include:
- Assess the financial viability of new projects in close collaboration with the business development team in order to decide whether to launch a financing process
- Facilitate transactions by managing areas of the modeling, financial, market, technical, E&S workflows feeding into the financings under development
- Prepare forecasts, budgets, plan and execute capital calls, run business case sensitivities to develop insights, and develop new ideas feeding into the above
- Monitor and analyze financials from existing investments on a recurring basis and generate insights from those
- Contribute to internal and external governance obligations by preparing and presenting analyses and presentations
- Liaise internally and with the relevant functions in the project teams to obtain and feed information back, as required.
Desired expertise and skills
The role requires a broad skillset and will put high demands on your ability to leverage your analytical and interpersonal skills. In order to succeed in the role, we are looking for candidates with the following skills:
- 3-5 years of structured finance experience in Private Equity, Investment Banking, Infrastructure, Energy or Power and Utilities
- B.Sc./M.Sc. degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related area with an excellent academic track record
- You have strong numerical, interpersonal / communications skills and attention to detail
- You have a structured and analytical way of working, are results-driven, and able to work independently
- You have a doer mindset and enjoy engaging with people
- Previous experience in the green hydrogen industry is a plus
Native/Bilingual in English is a must. German or Nordic languages (Swedish, Danish, Finnish) are an asset.
